-Level: This webquest has been
created to be used with students of 3rd of ESO who study English as a foreign language,
although it can also be used with 4th of ESO . -Timing: It should be developed
in 4-6 lessons of one hour each. If it is necessary, the students can do part
of it for homework. The final lesson should be dedicated to the oral
presentations made by the different groups. -The basic objectives
to be achieved are the following: -To learn new vocabulary related to
travelling and flying -To use internet as a useful tool to
obtain information -To work cooperatively with other group
members -To assume responsibility for one’s own
work -To choose the correct information to
create a final product -The procedures
to be developed are the following: -To search, analyse and compare different
pieces of information -To identify and select the most useful
information -To organise the different pieces of information
in order to create a coherent whole -To design a holiday brochure -To take part in an oral presentation of
their work -Previous knowledge: The students should know
some basic vocabulary related to travelling. They also need to know how to
use internet to find information and should have some ability to work
cooperatively in a group. -Organization and roles: The sessions should be
developed in the computers laboratory (or the language laboratory). There
will be three students in each group and they will decide who will be
responsible for each part of the task. All of them will take part in the
final oral presentation. -Evaluation/Assessment: A part of the final mark
will be obtained by assessing individual work and another part will be obtained
by assessing group work. The different aspects to be assessed are specified
in the chart used for assessment. The students should be informed from the
beginning of what aspects will be taken into account for assessment. The process of
evaluation will be accomplished through direct observation by the teacher of
the students’ participation in the different tasks as well as their
performances and attitude while doing group work. -Comments: If you use this webquest
